Demerara 23 y.o. 1990-2014

Tasting notes
Appearance: Warm amber.
Nose: Somehow similar in intensity to extra old Jamaican rums, then it becomes more winey, rich with dried grapes and musky notes. Sweet and deep.
Palate: Elegant softness and chewy character. Medicinal herbs, coffee, cinchona, cola and cinnamon. Not overly sweet, thanks to the rich winey notes from the sherry.
Finish: Warm, soft aftertaste, with winey and spicy notes and a fragrance like dried figs. This release too has echoes of Barolo Chinato or mulled wine.
Comment: Even softer and more elegant than 1989-2012 release, with more marked oloroso sherry notes: it is very reminiscent of old Speyside whiskies.
