Martinique Hors D’age Rel. 2013

Tasting notes
Appearance: Dark amber, like chestnut honey.
Nose: Fresh, rich with mint and camphor, finely oaky. Sweetness is not prominent except for notes of aniseed, and then it develops on pepper and grilled meat.
Palate: Quite light bodied, but luscious. Orange blossoms, mint and camphor. Good balance between the sugarcane sweetness and a bitter/salty note which reminds of ‘salmiak’ liquorice drops from Scandinavia.
Finish: Pleasantly herbal, aromatic and slightly tannic. Black tea with little sugar, flavoured with pepper and cloves. Orange rind.
Comment: The new release of our prestigious “agricole” is a fresh and aromatic rum, easy but not trivial, not focused on sweetness but rather on balance.
